About
Marija Simona Smolskienė
Director, choreographer, and educator. Founder and Artistic Director of Baltic Ballet Theatre (2010). A graduate of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, she holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Theatre Directing and is a qualified lecturer. She taught at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre for five years.
Since 2008, Marija Simona has created more than 30 productions spanning opera, contemporary ballet, musical theatre, and dance.
From 2004 to 2008, Marija Simona was a ballet soloist with Vanemuine Theatre (Estonia) and the Finnish National Opera (Finland).
Today, Marija Simona collaborates with Lithuanian and international theatres, cultural institutions, corporations, festivals, and event producers, bringing artistic vision to both the stage and the corporate world.
Marija Simona and the BALTIC BALLET THEATER, which she directs, are members of FEDORA organization in France and are affiliated with the French company ZIKAMAZENK. She works with event organizers and producers from the Netherlands, Monaco, Estonia, Latvia, Germany, Poland, Denmark, Australia, and many other countries, developing and delivering artistic projects across Europe and beyond.
